About Me
About Me
Sharing my enthusiasm for learning is why I chose to go into the field of education. Since I was young, I have enjoyed learning and found it captivating. Exploring new ideas and finding creative solutions in different situations is something I get passionate about. Having this devotion to learn is something I have always wanted to share, and has led me to want to become a teacher.
Taking on more responsibilities throughout my life has also helped me to realize that I would enjoy a career in education. I am a member of the Student Education Association (SEA), the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), the educational honor society (Kappa Delta Pi/ KDP), Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, and I am the philanthropy and sponsorship leader for the Relay For Life. All of these experiences have allowed me to work with others, and have guided to me to realize my passion for teaching.
Since starting my field placements, I have learned again that this is truly my passion that I want to peruse for the rest of my life. I have had the privilege of virtually observing a special education class at Mercer High School. I have also had the opportunity to observe a kindergarten class at J.V.B. Wicoff Elementary School. Another experience I have has been working as an art teacher for children ranging in ages of four to twelve years old. All of these opportunities that I have had have allowed me to grow have showed me how to handle situations appropriately, be creative, and stay true to myself while teaching. Observing other teachers while they teach has taught me that I still have a lot to learn before teaching, but I am excited to see where my educational career goes from here!
