Special Education
Special Education
Special education became a passion of mine when I started to get into the field of education. The complexities that go into the differentiation of instruction can be applied in many settings while being an educator. Teaching students with complex needs has been a rewarding experience for me throughout my placements, and I would love to explore this field more in following years of education. Making a difference in the lives of students with disabilities is something I strive for, while keeping up to date with the most current practices and standards used in the field of special education.
Sample Resources for Special Education
Adapted Book
Having adapted books available for students with complex needs will provide them with an alternative resource to look at books through a more simplified view. Providing these resources in my classroom will provide students differentiated ways to read the same stories.

Visual aids can be helpful to all students in a classroom. It gives students a chance to improve their comprehension and retention of information throughout the classroom.
PECS Board
Picture Exchange Communication System
